If you have a residential or business security camera, the El Segundo Police Department would like to partner with you.

Security cameras can be a powerful tool in helping deter crime as well as identifying offenders when crimes are captured on video. Participation in this program will help strengthen our investigation abilities and give us an easier way to communicate more effectively with potential witnesses. You could have video of a crime that occurred in your neighborhood and not even know it.

If a crime occurs in the vicinity of a registered camera, a representative from the El Segundo Police Department may contact the registered owner of the camera and ask to review the recorded footage relevant to the date and time of the incident.

Individuals wishing to participate in the program can fill out the below form. To register multiple locations, please fill out the form for each new location. Information regarding your security system will be for the El Segundo Police Department use only. Participation in the program does not alter your rights to privacy in any way and is completely voluntary. Registrant information is kept confidential and the registrant can withdraw at any time by contacting sboskovich@elsegundo.org.

Under the Security Camera Registration, the City of El Segundo will waive alarm permitting fees for new alarm system installations. The City would also waive fees for any updates to current alarm systems that include those cameras.
